Setup Command Engine to always to go one direction

No lockout that I know of.  However, if you really want it to go in only one direction, you could put a bridge rectifier in between the motor and the motor driver.  The lights would still reverse, but the motor would only go one direction.

You get it going slowly in the direction you want always, or into neutral and switch the PGM/RUN switch to PGM and leave it there.

I'm guessing you're running in Conventional mode.

 I am trying to run some of my TMCC engines in conventional mode where I want to start and stop them in an automated setting. Example: running two trains on the same track where one train moves onto a by pass track and stops until the other passes on the mainline and then the train on the bypass track will start automatically and move onto the mainline.

In conventional it's easy, do what Chuck said.  I thought you were trying to run it in command.

Thanks to all of you that have responded to my ask. I am building a layout that will run up to 50 trains at one time under computer control that is why I am trying to get TMCC engines to always run forward.

For what it's worth, when using a computer to control TMCC equipped engines through the TMCC system  over a serial connection, you can issue a 'forward direction' command to the engine.  You can find the command protocol starting on page 36 of the TMCC manual: https://www.lionelsupport.com/...ents/71-2911-250.pdf   The forward direction command is really simple, it's all zeros in the command and data fields.
