SMS Lines: Baldwins At Work In The 21st Century

New Jersey based shortline SMS Lines has gained great notoriety for its ongoing operation of Baldwin diesels in everyday freight service. SMS operations are conducted in several locales; however, most action is concentrated at its Bridgeport, NJ facilities. Here, in 2011, we see the 9069, a DS4-4-1000 built in 1949 for the Pennsylvania Railroad which has been restored to its original PRR scheme. The cab ride sequence features a hard working return from the Conrail Shared Assets interchange with a heavy train:
