Something Missing from Caboose?

I believe mine has a switch in that location to control the smoke unit for either command control or conventional running. Is this a smoking caboose?

Not sure what the hole is for but if that is the brake cylinder by your thumb it should be closer to the center line just outside the frame not near the edge of the car.

The holes are recesses for two of the screws that hold the thing together. If you look carefully under the trucks on the other side of the car, you'll find the other two. If you slip a #1 Philips screwdriver into one of the holes, you'll feel the screw head.

It does smoke (the switch to thr right of my thumb).

I was just making sure that they were mounting holes for piping, but the floor is metal and the screws down from the top make sense.
