have a J-611, mth 30-1105-1. Purchased recently. Mth product locater only shows the 30-1105-0 or a water tower? Regardless, the QSI sound only has bell, whistle and chugging, but all the sounds are distorted. We think the speaker may be cracked or something. Anyone know where to order speakers? The speaker has this on it if I read correctly: STAR PR-504 800.2 w Korea 403y If you know where to order a speaker, let me know, thanks

The sound was excessively loud when he put it on the track he turned the sound down, so now you can hear whistle, bell is ok, chugging annoyingly louder than bell and whistle. louder all is distorted/rattling/ear piercing. Battery was recently replaced. Does it sound like the speaker to you? Or could it be another problem?
will get a 9 v tomorrow to just make sure, but he doesn't think that's the problem.
That sounds like a first generation RailKing. I believe that you will find that the correct number is MT-1105. It has a basic whistle/bell.

Gilly, the 30-1105-1 is what is on the engine box, but strange I can't find in product locater. 30-1105-0 brought up the j with 612 road #

Click on my name and it should be there. This engine was the first RK J released. It came with DCRU with whistle. It was upgradeable. I would take a picture of the boards. Could be a qsi set up, or a PS-1 upgrade.
If you raise voltage and sounds distort you may actually have an issue with the bottom or power board. G
