Strasburg meet in Aug - who's going?

Today I am gathering up some surplus O scale equipment to take to the Strasburg show on Saturday.  I will have 2 tables full of stuff you don't see much anymore.  CLW completed mechanisms for F units,  an unstarted Pearce 2-8-0 kit, AN F-3 A &B units with dual power and lots of other O scale.  After 40+ years in 2 rail O, I am going to thin out my collection.

I will have my usual two tables next to RRJJF and will be representing Sunset and Golden Gate as always. I will be selling a Golden Gate 2 rail B&O Cincinnatian set brand new in the box  (which needs to be shipped from California)  along with some extra Cincinnatian coaches that I have with me along with some of my own stuff.

At 74 I don't need all my items any longer and will be selling my stuff cheap.

Dear Forum Members,

As of tonight 08/08/2017, we have 68 dealers and 92 tables sold for this Saturday's show. 

There will be representatives of the 2018 SONC in Washington DC area in attendance to distribute information and answer any questions about the event.

Rich and I have also been told a few small collections will also be for sale.

As always, the Strasburg Fire Company food staff will be providing great Amish cooking at always reasonable prices.

And all this for a $5,00 admission fee !!!

I went. I saw. I had a great time.  Talked to a lot of old friends.  Had a few laughs.  Spent next to nothing.  O Scale doesn't have to cost a lot to have fun.

Another fun show. Lots to see and a lot of fellowship with the o scale fraternity.

Hopefully, some pictures were taken so those less fortunate can also see the "lots to see".   

Strasburg is a show for everyone.

There were a lot of tables filled with $10 & $20 clean "filler" freight cars with steel wheels and Kadees for those just wanting to build long trains.   Got eleven of them for a new coal drag.  Even new in the box Atlas and MTH cars were available for $25 - $35.  MFGers must be sitting on hoards of dead stock.  This may be a hidden indicator of just how tapped out the country is.

If anyone is just getting started in 0 scale 2 rail the Strasburg show usually has a bunch of entry level family affordable stock available.

For the complete picture let me say there were scores of quality high end brass cars well represented by Keystone, RYM, early SS brass,  PCS, OMI & others  all priced to sell.

Also had to be well over a hundred very reasonable priced steam engines.  All good clean decent looking  pieces.  Dealers were working the numbers to close many deals.

George Peckman was  there with his massive portable hobby shop loaded with just about any widgets one would need.  Lots of other stuff going on that others can touch on.

Keep October 14th open for the next Strasburg show.

It was my first visit to this show and I thoroughly enjoyed it.    It is a very long trip for me, so I doubt I can make it regularly, but I would like to go again.    I did spend some bucks, and I found a loco I had been looking for for years at a very reasonable price.    I also got 2 of the 25 dollar Atlas cars, new in the box!

I've regularly had tables for the April & October shows, this was my first for August as I'm usually on vacation. It was a good crowd attending and found out later from John that attendance is very close to other months of the year.

Sold a lot of items and complete project kits that I'll never get to. Prices were really good all over the hall.

Best of all, was seeing friends I only see a couple times a year!
