I started one of my two remaining River Leaf Models kits.

……the only downside is that there is a LOT of sanding needed to make the windows fit……otherwise, it’s a great kit and I wish Andre was still in business……..

That is a neat building Peter. Reminds me of the Flat Iron Building in Manhattan.

Great footprint on that (flat iron) building, Peter. I could use one of those on my layout. Thinking of kit bashing one. Part of my layout is Trenton NJ and there was indeed one there, also in the town of Bloomfield where I grew up, it was a bank at the time. Looking forward to seeing it completed.

Yes, it does…….I guess that is where Andre got the name Flat Tire……..

Nice work folks and thank you for sharing. Nothing too spectacular for me the past couple weeks. I took advantage of the hot sunny weather to dye some ballast. The grey roofing granules I use are a bit too bright, so I give them a bath of India ink in isopropanol to dull the color. Here are several trays drying in the sun. I’ve also been trying to work out terrain on a small section of my layout. There will be a culvert/creek under the track, with the ground rising so that the spur in the foreground is in a small cut.

Below are photos of a barn diorama that my son, Chris, made for a friend as a Christmas present about 15 years ago. Per my request, he sent me some photos last evening. The barn has a removable roof so the detailed interior may be viewed. This was built with no preliminary plans. He had a space limitation. the rest was just out of his head as he went.

Alan your structures are always so interesting, no square boxes coming out of your shop.

Peter nice work on that River Leaf.  Too bad Andre stopped producing models.

No improvements on the Intermodal facility this week.  I've got to dig out some more tractors, It needs some kind of office and some lights.  The toll booth is crying out for improvements, some details, some windows, some people some gates,some lights....
