Nice work as always guys! Making progress on a part of the layout I’ve ignored for too long. The first picture is a retaining wall next to the main line. After that, I put down some basic ground cover. The rest of the pictures are of the Jericho Turnpike underpass in Mineola, Long Island, NY. For the street supports, I made a template out of oak tag, then transferred the shape to some scrap 3/4” plywood. After cutting and a little sanding, I screwed the curved road supports to the benchwork. I spray painted some 1/8” hardboard (Masonite) flat gray. I’ll follow up on the road with some weathering powders. I cut the walls out of the same thickness hardboard, and after priming with the gray, I sprayed on some Rust-Oleum Desert Bisque. For the folks that are familiar with the area I’m modeling, this is the underpass on Jericho Turnpike in Mineola. For those not familiar, this is a four lane road, and one of the main thoroughfares in the village of Mineola which passes under the Oyster Bay branch line that I’m modeling. The underpass is in progress, so more pictures to follow. Thanks for looking.

Alan, wow cut-aways!  Since you do a lot of modelling for that industry do you know the reason for the silver roof over the floating cover?

Sirt, perfect weathering as usual.

Andy, is that the one close to Willis Avenue?  Looking East or West?  If you're looking West are you going to model the McDonalds and Aero Mfg?

Thank you fellas.

Joe  ...The geodesic dome is installed on external floating roof tanks to keep the weather off of the roof. It also eliminates water to have to be drained off of the roof from rain or snow.

Hi Alan, Here is another of your in-construction tanks, which you crafted for me, pictured in-situ as part of a tank vignette...bbbgh...with a  little of my imagination added around it to establish a little something purposeful happening in the scene. I hope it meets with your approval.

Late again to the party but always excited to see the work of those who posted on Sunday.  Always amazed at the level of talent on display here.  Thanks as always to everyone who takes the time to share and post.

Finally finished up the roof and some small details.  Eventually will add a porch like structure and signage.  But the main build is a wrap!
