Good Morning Everyone,

Today I will be completing the flare model. I just have to complete the piping going to the top and mount it in its plexiglass case.

 I will then be moving onto a steel mill and a korber modular building.

Let's see what you have been working on.

SIRT

Agree we need to keep this once THRIVING OGR thread alive.

Here is a building I picked up real cheap at a swap meet . I added some LED lighting and the figures, detail and loading dock. I just need to make space on my layout and light it up

I am working on few more that I should be posting in the next few weeks

Steve

Alan;

I have long been in awe and envy of the skills exhibited by you and many others on the Forum, all the more so since I have no talent for such work. I am more likely to buy something already built than try to build it myself. Until now, that is. I have an odd little area at the edge of my freight yard - too small for another track, but big enough to rather stick out like a sore thumb. So I decided to try and build a loading platform to fill the space. I started with some wood strips I picked up from Jo-Ann's and some etched floor board sheets I ordered from a company out in Washington state. I ended up making three platforms, 24" long by 3" wide, and 1.25" high.

All in all, I am very happy with how they turned out, but in retrospect, it probably would have been much cheaper to buy some pre-made

I check out this thread every week.  Don't have a lot to offer because the layout has been down for quite awhile and I'll have to wait until we move to start on a new one. But I do have to say Good job by all, especially Alan. Not the flare because we have come to expect such immense quality out of such a talented artist, but for polishing of that Corona 12 pack and being brave enough to work on his wife's hair.  Never mind the stain on the chair was the dye job a success? Scariest moment of my life was being woken up by my wife with a pair of scissors in her hand asking me to cut about 4 inches off her hair.

That flare head is a work of art. I don't think our readers understand how difficult it is to space pipes around toruses and have them come off at the correct angles. You're the real master here Al. It would have been cool to see that tower at its true scale height. It would have been AWESOME and would have used a fortune in Plastruct material.

I generally don't post my stuff here since I'm constantly posting progress on my never-ending thread. But for those who don't follow it, here's the latest pics of the Plastruct Petro/Chem plant. These are the flare lines coming off of the equipment relief valves. I'm going to paint these lines yellow.
