I've been trying to add a second TIU and operate it in super mode but unsuccessfully. I now have both TIUs with unique identities. TIU #1 flashes once when I power it up and TIU #2 flashes twice. My remote reads both TIUS. The remote is set to super mode. My remote and both TIUs have DCS version 6.01

The problem is that engines respond very sluggishly to commands issued via TIU #2. I have very little control over them. Operation is normal with TIU #1.

I've looked into the issue of center rail connections mentioned in previous posts on this topic. A lighted caboose behaves as it should at the intersections of tracks controlled by the two TIUs. It lights when powered by the transformer connected to TIU #1 and doesn't light when moved to the tracks controlled by TIU #2 with the transformer off. (I'm using two Z4000 transformers to power the two TIUs.)

Any suggestions that you might have would be welcome.

Have you done a track signal test ?  If yes. Running the test. Does the signal go south when your train leaves TIU 1 and travels into TIU 2. If the 2 TIU’s a close enough to each other. Change out the TIU outputs from one to another. I’m assuming you’ve already used up your outputs if your adding a second one. The problem should travel with the swap if somethings up with TIU 2.  If they are some distance apart. Some times you may need to move closer or have the remote between you and the TIU when giving commands.

The receiver board in TIU 2 may need to be reseated. Try tethering the remote to it and see if performance improves.

Is there any rolling stock sitting idle in TIU 2 blocks ?  Some lighted cars will affect your track signal.

Thanks for your suggestions.

The track signal test on track connected to TIU #2 mostly indicates that the engine is out of RF range. Signal strength definitely goes south when an engine goes into TIU #2 territory. (It is 10 on the track controlled by TIU #1.) However, before, when I ran the whole layout from one transformer and one TIU, I had 9s and 10s on this same track.

Tethering the remote to TIU #2 has no effect on operations.

Both TIUs have been set to super mode.

The two TIUs are fairly close together, maybe 15 feet apart. I stood next to TIU #2 with the remote, but even standing right next to it didn't have an effect on operations.
