It's #SwitcherSaturday time!!!!

Lots of us out there love switchers (shifters, docksiders, yard goats, critters, etc.), so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

If you missed last week's SWSAT you should really go take a look, it was a ton of fun!

This week at the Murnane house...
My NYC #9000 0-8-0 Switcher (MTH 30-1255-1) came out of retirement (the box) and decided it wanted to run around my tabletop layout!  This thing is really a fantastic model, I hate playing favorites but man - I do like this one!

I hope everyone has a nice weekend and if you get a chance - please post some switcher stuff here!

All the best...Rich Murnane

p.s. Miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

Happy Switcher Saturday everyone.

Rich, glad you are making progress on your boxes.

My contribution this week is a photo by Aaron G. Fryer of Pennsylvania Railroad B6sb #5244. This locomotive was rather amazing as it brought down the curtain on the Pennsy's extensive steam locomotive program since it was the last operating steam locomotive in service, operating her under lease to Union Transportation Co. Seen here at New Egypt, NJ on September 3, 1958, the locomotive has less than one year left before being scrapped. Its last day in service would be July 14, 1959.

Yay! The SWSAT is on!

This week I am posting some pics of my Astoria Light, Heat and Power K-Line Porter working a cut of wood boxcars on my switch layout.

Sometime this weekend I hope to have time to start a little On30 spaghetti bowl Halloween layout to have some where to run my Bachmann Porter that looks identical to this engine but smaller.

Here are a few prototype images of Baldwin saddletank engine that were made for the US Transportation Corps to use in Europe after WW2. Several stayed stateside but others remain in Europe. A few have been preserved and some even restored to operation. ETS makes a tinplate version.

Here is the O scale ETS model. I can see a few differences from the prototypes but I like my ETS products and am willing to put up with some of these shortcomings for thier unusual offerings.

Have a great weekend guys.

Happy SWSAT Everyone!

Great posts so far.

Rich- good to see that you are starting to unpack the important stuff. Don't know why the BL-2 didn't do well, I like it. Nice demo model PRRRONBH.

This week I put my two K-line S-2's together to pull a few box cars. Gotta spend some serious time on the layout, way too may distractions lately.

I guess I have not posted these BL-2 pics here on the Switcher thread before.  If so sorry.

Since none of my roads had any, best bet to have one of these unusual jewels was the demonstrator.  This way can run it as a demonstrator with any of the favored roads in late 40's era.

I did the same thing. I like the look of the demo anyway and you can run it with anything.

No joy Doesn't work. So it will just be a camera poser. At least it looks good in pictures. Azgary

Why?  You should be able to find the motor for that unit. Pop it out, add some led lighting and you are in business!

I was going to say the same. Looks like a nice project.

Why? I don't have the eye's or the patience for it.  But you 2 have convinced me rather than sit on it,

I will list for sale on e-bay on Tuesday. Let's see who wants to project it most.  Azgary
