First hint...........no image.............no guess yet..............Paul 2
I guess a building!
Coal mine with tipple just like in the movie October Sky.
One of the toughest hints yet!
A 1/43rd scale post it note pad?
Something with Jack on it............
A building that has no name on it with instruction on how label it. By doing this you are making it your own🤔
Only the Shadow knows
Impressive guess Dad! LOL
A question mark as a hint. Hmmmm.....
The Riddler's Lair!!??
A modern Walgreens or CVS drug store
Starbucks rolling stock please.
Natty Boh brewery! I’d take a pub also.
It a brewery delivery truck on the way to the pub!
I heard someone say it had jack on it. It must be a Jack Daniels distillery
Ruth, the invisible hero, home
Just another way of saying a box truck Bro! We need more! LOL
A School Building!
Dave
A backdrop
It’s a blank image because it’s a Drive-in movie theater that isn’t playing the movie yet; or the image is blank because it’s a new line of 2 dimension industry flats. 😉
Harvey.
Me thinks the folks at Menards got an early start on the weekend.
Not Jack the German Shepard, although I’m sure he’ll be there and there’s an empty box...my guess is Jack in the Box restaurant
A fog machine. Works really well! 🤣
-or-
A discount on rolling stock sets, by company: e.g., The following cars for Chessie: caboose, work car, crane car, box car, reefer car, flat car, gondola, tanker car, inspection vehicle car, ...
-or-
Healthcare Workers, Vaccine Volunteers, Vaccine Providers / Scientists: Appreciation cars!
A recreation of the concrete Grain Elevators that used to be Duluth, MN and Superior, WI.
Andrew
A dog spa!!!!
Maybe it's a scale computer with a blue screen of death on it ??????
I cant see an image on my end... I will guess... invisible ink tank car
A Guinness factory and tank cars for St Paddy's?
Well maybe its some scenery as the little box shows a cloud and a green hillside where Jack the dog will be laying down and lapping up some sun!
Jim-
Love the "October Sky" movie. Great steam loco shots and coal mining scenes at the beginning of a movie about getting to outer space!
Ken
Klingon cloaking device to hide the Menards flying saucer accessory.
Square Deal Hardware and Trains
KCV,
I loved it too. Here where I live in Indiana County, there use to be a lot of coal mines. Most of them were owned by the R and P Coal Co. But now, most of them have shutdown and the towns have all been sold. I just wonder how much longer the Homer City Power Plant will be in operation and fired by coal.
A BOX company!
It looks like "nothing" to get excited over.
A mission style train station.
A new forklift loader similar to the Lionel #264.
@Old Hobo posted:A Guinness factory and tank cars for St Paddy's?
This would be awesome! NotNatty Boh level awesome, but there is the new Baltimore based Guinness brewery! I would buy this the moment they have a decent freebie to go with it (e.g. a lighted vehicle).
Airport or maybe a bus station?
Looks like a train station is the new offering.
Pat

I don't see it on the website.
Train Station!
@Craftech posted:I don't see it on the website.
LOL! Never said it was on the Menards' website. It was my guess as to the new release based upon Mark's latest hint.
Pat
I gather no one could see the image initially. Now it certainly looks like a train station, or possibly a bus station. Small airport? Cruise ship? (Just kidding on the last two) Personally I haven't packed one of those things he is pulling in over a year. What is it called again?

Pat
OK Pat,
You got me there.
John
I don't know, that could be one of those rolling ice chest full of cold ones from the brewery heading to the big screen to watch NASCAR! LOL
A taxi cab(s) Uber with lights with a land skape area with benches/street lights bushes, holes for trees and other figures. This should work with all Menards stations made.
Just a wild quess?

Maybe a Cab Stand?
Mike Wolf leaving Columbia Maryland heading to Eau Claire Wisconsin
1. Train Station/Stop/Platform
2. Bus Station/Stop/Platform
3. Post Office. Customer calling about missing train orders!
Given the shocked look of the figure, I am going to say some sort of alien abduction at a train station or a giant Jack (the german Shepard) terrorizing a bus depot.
He looks like a pharmacist with a load of COVID 19 vaccine. Therefore, I guessing a drug store. I hope it has a soda fountain.
There goes the natty Boh brewery. Small airport with moving propellers on the planes. 2nd guess is a greyhound bus station, but my gut says air port.
^^ I'm all in for the airport! I really like how Menards incorporated the moving helicopter rotor blades on their fire station. To see that engineering in another product would be great.
Operating accessory
Passengers on a moving sidewalk.
Andrew
If the mysterious figure is holding a cellular, then he is too modern for my layout, which models nothing past 1959 (I hope)....
I notice no mask.....
Hmmm, I thought that the figure is a woman walking toward something; I did not notice the apparent cell phone usage.
Samsonite luggage factory.
Space Ship on the way to Mars.
Jack is on every building. Menards perfected cloning.
There is writing on the side of the suitcase. I can make out a "66" but maybe it's all in my imagination
A guy waiting in line at an alien abduction station so that he can live Covid and income tax free with Jack the Shepard at the helm of the saucer.
or
Some guy at a bus station getting ticked why its taking so long to board.
or
as Nairb Rekab noted that it is Mike Wolf leaving Columbia Maryland heading to Eau Claire Wisconsin!
or
Waiting at the Cripple Creek Train station and wondering if the beer on board is chilled to his liking.
It's Philadelphia's 30th Street Station! (Hey I'm allowed to dream)
Seriously tho, they have 2 train stations for sale now, Melrose Park and Menardville. I doubt it would be another one. Bus station seems most likely, maybe a cab stand?
A modern station for today’s travelers: The Amtrak Station by Menards Shop Now >
Dimensions: 9-1/2"W x 6"D x 4-1/4"H
American travel by train may be experiencing a bit of a revival. In 2019 Amtrak, America’s sole long-distance passenger-carrier, moved more than 30 million passengers. While their numbers are up, they are considerably smaller than the 290 million rail passengers carried in 1964.
Gone are the days of gigantic passenger stations designed for tens of thousands of customers daily. Replacing many of these majestic granite and marble structures are more economical designs for providing services and comforts to today’s savvy rail riders.
The Basics: The Amtrak Station is a fully assembled and decorated modern design. It is made for smooth arrival and departure of passengers. The building has a modest footprint, 9-½ inches wide by 6 inches deep. The building’s walls and support columns are smooth, resembling poured concrete. The base also has a concrete appearance. There are add-on details in front and rear. The red overhanging roof has bright exterior lighting.
The station has spot to plug in a power supply as well as drop-down pigtail plug for use with a Menards 4.5 volt power supply, Menards SKU 279-4061, 279-4062, or 279-4050. You may wish to consider the no. 279-4681 9-piece Plug & Play accessory kits to serve multiple structures and vehicles. All are available separately.
Why you need this: While there are many stations on the market that are designed for running O gauge passenger trains modeling the 1930s though the 1960s, this model is spot on for anyone running contemporary trains, whether they are Amtrak, regional commuter trains, or even modern era steam excursion trains.
The front of the station has two traveler figures, one with a suitcase and the other examining a listing of local attractions. Jack the German shepherd lounges out front, greeting all comers. To the right are a trashcan and a blue mailbox. Above them is the tried and true station board for the Station Master to annotate arrivals and departures.
The entrance has 12 tall glass panes, and a double door with add-on handles. There are two additional tall windows on each side, both accented with tall brown flower boxes.
The trackside of the building mirrors the 12-pane window and door arrangement from the street side. You’ll find a lone traveler is departing with a roller suitcase, while two others await the next train, chatting near a pile of luggage.
The building is a blue-gray color, but the top is a striking red. All four sides have a large Amtrak sign with the "pointless arrow" logo recently revived for the rail carrier’s 40th anniversary. The signage is striking when illuminated: Each letter of Amtrak comes on in sequence, next is the red of the arrow’s tail, and finally the blue arrow shaft. Once on, it remains steady and then sequences once again.
The Amtrak station is a great addition to your city scene. It is a unique building that is a great spot to park passenger trains, taxi’s, and even city busses. Make this the intermodal center of your O gauge city!
Would be a bit more appealing if it had clear windows with an interior view showing a ticket counter with an agent and some people inside.
It's an Am-Shack! It looks too good - Amtrak would never have paid for a sign that fancy
Boy, that didn't take long for somebody to complain...again! It's never ending. Why does Menards even bother? If you don't like it, don't buy it.
I think it looks great! Am ordering one!! JohnA
Nice building. I really like it due to the small footprint, as I do not have a lot of space for the bigger buildings.
Jeff

I'm sorry but my comment is meant in jest at Amtrak, nothing else. If you are looking for negative you will find it in anything.
Something different from Menards. I like it. Small footprint and Amtrak uses small buildings like that. I am with Mustang. You can't please all the people all of the time. This has always been the case, human nature. Remember the story about a scale guy who told Lionel way back when they did not have the right amount of rivets on their tender and JLC hired a rivet counter. It is great Menards produces decent priced buildings.......................Paul 2
Nice. If I can create real estate, this would make a great stop for my Railking Amtrak set.
Just bought 2 flats -- Patriot Lighting and M&M's. Very pleased and use very little space.
jhz,
It wasn't you. Look at the post immediately in front of your Am-Shack post.

Cool, but not for me.
Pretty cool little station. Nice job Menards.

I didn't really see anything wrong with that reply either. The reply seems like an honest critique to me. It would nicer with an interior. It would also be considerably more than the $80 price point.
OK, I'll buy one but you'll have to tell the little Amtrak guy nside that they need to serve something better than microwave cheeseburgers in the snack car.
Great value especially considering that each side has a lighted Amtrak sign. The small footprint is excellent as well. Thanks again Menards!!
Looking forward to the HO version of this station.
Steve
Another great building from Menards. I'm sure it will sell well. I like the flashing Amtrak signs. Well done Menards. Please keep them coming. Also, please do not take your foot off the pedal. You still have a coal mine and tipple to build.
Ok, Menards church-bashing guy saying it looks good. Like the sign. Don't want to get a reputation as a grump.
Menards... THANK YOU! Awesome! Awesome! awesome! Nice job recreating the look of an Amtrak station. Canton Ohio had a small station which was of this type. Amtrak had flowers and topiary around the perimeter much like the flower boxes on Menards version. Excellent job on this!!!
Order is in and I've spread the word to my friends!
Thank you Menards !!!!!

The 1970s stations of this type did have nicely illuminated Amtrak arrow signs. The Cleveland Ohio station had a three sided concrete sign lovingly referred to by my friends at Amtrak as the "monolith." It had 3 neon Amtrak logos on each of the 3 sides. Unfortunately Lake Erie was nearby and the harsh winds and ice wreaked havoc on the neon logos. The monolith sign was removed at some point in the 1990s. To validate your point after arguing against it, Amtrak never replaced the sign.
With that out of the way, time for the aforementioned Guinness brewery, truck, and boxcars. I will give up my hope for a natty Boh brewery if they do this! I’ve honestly never heard of Sprecher and it is almost St paddy’s day, so bring on the Guinness.
@Traindiesel posted:A question mark as a hint. Hmmmm.....
The Riddler's Lair!!??
Hmmm, The Riddler could still have his lair under the Amtrak station. I like it!!
Nice to see @Menards continuing to offer smaller footprint structures. IMHO this Amtrak station's basic building structure also appears to possibly offer other future commonly seen commercial applications from the same era such as small bank, doughnut shop, mini (Quickie)-mart, pancake/waffle house etc.
Ok I'll be "that guy".
Do that many people run/collect Amtrak trains to justify creating a specialized station for them? I would have thought there'd be more clamoring for a Santa Fe station, or any of the other "most popular" rail lines. Seems like this is catering to a real narrow segment of O scale modelers, or am I out of touch of what lines are really popular?
Now fire away.....

Playing devil's advocate, I'd say there is less of a chance someone would want a santa fe station out east or a pennsy station if they model western RRs. Amtrak is kind of a crossover that spans the nation. This station is not my cup of tea exactly, but I can understand why they chose Amtrak.
Maybe I would have expected a station where the buyer could use one of several supplied translucent signs of various railroads so that it could be tailored to the buyer's desires. Much like how the TTX autotransporter car came with multiple railroad signs so one could brand it to their line or choice.

That is a great idea and would certainly increase sales.
I like the idea of smaller footprint buildings and building faces Menards has been coming out with. Space is at a premium on my layout these days! Thanks Menards.
It would be real nice if Menards could turn out one or two buildings a month. Also, more freight cars. Someday, it would be real nice if passenger cars would be added to their line.
I am sad to say that the Menard's Amtrak station is a very close likeness to the Amtrak station in Jacksonville, FL, which replaced the majestic Jacksonville Terminal railroad station at the end of a long "Y" into downtown.
I like the sizing and the lighting. Reminds me of the old station in Dearborn. Nice work!
@NeophyteMRR posted:I like the sizing and the lighting. Reminds me of the old station in Dearborn. Nice work!
Yep that's what the old Amtrak station did look like. Very pathetic actually as Dearborn, Michigan had a real nice station that was of course - torn down!
It’s a nice building. It looks like something that belongs trackside for the last fifty years.
I probably won’t buy one because I generally try not to model anything after the year 1951, but good job, Menard’s!
Oh God
