All these great cars and great stories - Thank you!

Speaking of "detective" scenes, how about the Scooby-Doo Gang and their Mystery Machine? ("I / We would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!").

I didn't think much of this series when I first saw it, but it has been on TV and on DVD's in one series after another.

Gotta be room for Veranda Turbine in these tales

Lee: These are a wonderful series of posts -I've enjoyed them greatly. In the photos above I believe you're testing us. The photo with the maroon car with the black top, UK license plate is parked next to a *US* mailbox!

Thank you for these threads. You've brought back memories of long forgotten characters, and introduced me to some new ones. You've had suggestions from many forum members. I may have missed it but I didn't see any mention of one of the most popular mystery write of the 30's through the 60's. He generally seem to have vanish from public awareness, despite being acknowledged as the master of the locked room mystery. I'm thinking about John Dickson Carr, he also used the name Carter Dickson.

His two most famous detectives were Dr. Gideon Fell and Sir Henry Merrivale. I don't know how you'd model either of them in a street scene, since they were both largely armchair dicks.

Keep up the good work
