Got a question -
I unboxed a Atlas O TMCC loco at a friend's house whose layout is conventional only. We fired up the loco and let it run for over an hour. There were no hassles, no issues. The loco ran great. I especially liked its low speed performance.
I brought the locomotive home, reprogrammed the eingine address from ENG 1 to its cab number and fired it up in command control. It worked fine except on the curves where it would slow down, something it did not do running conventional on my friends layout (curves are actually tighter on his layout than mine). I decided to run the locomotive conventional on my layout (the layout is wired for both operations) to see if there was a difference running into the curves.
Here's the question - the locomotive powers up with lights only. No sound, no bell/horn and it will not run at all. I tried two of my conventional only locomotives to check the power hook up and they ran fine. I tried two other TMCC locomotives and they would not run - same issue as the new Atlas O.
So the only difference between running the Atlas O at my friends house and running it on my layout is re-programming the engine number. Does anyone have any ideas why this locomotive in particular and my other TMCC locomtives in general won't run conventional? Does one need to keep the engine address at ENG 1?
