TMCC/Legacy question | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

When running a Legacy engine with the DCS remote Via the TMCC base. What features do you lose? I know the obvious is the quilling horn which is fine with me. I wanted to purchase Lionel's newest SD80MAC for the holidays but not sure what features I can access.

I don't want to purchase a full legacy system just yet so I will probably just buy the TMCC base.

My questions are when I start up the locomotive will I still here the cab talk? Can I access tower com and crew talk? Will the ditch lights and smoke work?

What features do I loose other than quilling horn do I loose sequence control?

What exact command base do I need and what cable is the command base the one in the TMCC set?

Biggest loss? How about the smooth operation! You have 32 speed steps instead of 200. Since it's running in TMCC mode, I'm guessing there are some other things that will be gone as well, but since I run them in Legacy, I'm not sure what all is missing.

Train Brake
Single Strike Bell
Finer momentum Control
Additional Lighting Control
Probably a few more I'm missing too.

Crew talk and tower comm should work fine.
