Watch the ones list on the web, the Micro Mark has folding legs thus making it easier to store and move around. I had one borrowed for a time that did not have the folding legs and it was very limited as to where I could place it o my wall to wall "U: shape layout.
The one from Micro Mark is Super Nice..The only problem I had was Isle Space. My layout has a 26 inch isle width. You will need 3 feet to move this nice stepping Stool around your pike. Also, be sure your headroom ISVs sufficient. Yes, it's pricy, but more handy for long reaching. Good Luck.
I have had mine for 3 years now. I am able to maneuver it around the entire walk around layout. When not in use I keep it under the layout. Folds up easy enough.
I have a "Traxion" foldable Topside Creeper model 3-100. It is very handy reaching the other side of the layout, I am lucky that I have room to move it from area to area(with a little effort). As mentioned above "THEY ARE BIG" and take a lot of room.
Having said all that, it is a good investment for me. I just work around it.

The topside creeper, purchased from Micro-Mark, is the only means for me to get to the far reaching areas of my layout. I have to be careful navigating around the legs of the table but with patience and careful maneuvering it does the job. It folds enough where it fits under the layout ready for the next time it is needed.

I got mine for Christmas last year and I love it. It's big but that makes it very stable.
How far back can you reasonably reach comfortably from the edge? Four feet? Six feet? More?
I've had mine for a couple of years & love it. I can reach across my 4' wide table with ease. I have the room to store it but it is quite large. Sign up for emails from MicroMark I bought mine on sale & saved quite a bit.
howard: I'd like to sell you mine, which has had ZERO use. Only problem is shipping it!!! From NW Oregon, no less!
Phil, if Howard doesnt take you up on your offer, I may be interested. I've sent you an email. thanks.

Traindiesel - I would say it would get you to about six feet from the edge.

Just sent another email.
Anyone have pictures? Don
Thanks Tot, I notice in the shot there is a overhead wire system. Same here and I'm always hitting a pole or wire. That in effect makes your layout about six to seven inches higher. I think I could use something like that. Don
Spence and Mike D., thanks for the info!
