I posted this Sunday but some others may want to see it.
Just added this car to another new photo album on my site along with some forum member’s cars.
Album 32 is on the Shutterfly link below.

SIRT,
You sure do make things look so realistic.
Outstanding work!
I agree Eh
SIRT,
You do beautiful work, besides the rust, worn paint, what appear to be some burn marks, and worn dented (metal).
Also, the openings of the tears, in the sides of the body, actually appear to be made of metal and not plastic!!!
Great!
Ralph
Nicely done, Steve! You are a pro at realism...especially getting rust right.
Excellent work Steve. You have raised the standards again. Always look for your work here. Thanks

Nicely done. Big fan of realism.
wow great job, top to bottom looks very real down too the chalk letters and markings
Steve,
It looks awesome!!!!!!!
Alex
That is an excellent weathering job and it certainly looks like a real wreck too. Right down to the bents, splits and real rust. Looks like real metal that has naturally weathered from sitting outside.
That is really cool. Reminds me of when I was a kid, I used a lighter to warp the sides of a gondola to make it look like it was in a wreck. I remember being pleased with the end result (or maybe it was the process )!
Nice!
Don
Great work you did a outstanding job. Did you use a broken boxcar, or did you use a new unit?
Thanks guys.
Never did this before but I got lucky on the first attempt using the heat gun.
I found a broken junker for 3 bucks and change on ebay. I didn’t care because I needed the ladders to repair 2 crumbling 40’ Master AAR cars, LOL! Parts with Chinese contaminated pot metal details.
This car only had 2 trucks, doors, no wheels and one plastic coupler.
I always wanted to do a wrecked box car.

That's a great piece of work, real eyecatcher.
Your next mission, Mr. Phelps, should you choose to accept it............................
Looks great
Simply amazing Steve.
You hit that one out of the park!!
Thanks for posting..

Nice touch with the torn side panels.
Who was moving that car, the Milwaukee Road...
...or the new UP steam crew?
Another run of the SIRT job! Nice work.
very clever Steve!
Very nice.
I've been admiring your work for some time now Steve. Now, armed with a heat gun, you are sure to be the Master of Stress and Disaster; Look Out!
Rich
I always really like seeing your work, Steve!
Ted, it must have been cheaper to just leave those box cars there instead of removing them, yah think?
Larry
Outstanding! Always looking for your next project.
Jack
Quite an overwhelming response fellas!
It was a fun project as most are and I suspect I gave you another decorating idea for your layout.
Actually I have been using a heat gun for many years replacing BGA components.
Some of you probably seen my beat up gondolas that received the soldering iron treatment.
Just a few more tools added to the arsenal.
Jack, I was working on the next project at the same time along with weathering customer cars as well. Busy week!
The SCL passenger car conversion is another project I always figured I'd have to do myself.
I guess MTH and others didn't realize that those famous cars were never marketed in O.
I have already had several requests to offer wrecked cars for sale.
Have a great weekend everyone!
