When I activate the horn on my 1953 2353 set the lights flash. And the train slows down. I'm using a kw transformer and using the A and U post. Is this normal to have loss of power? I have added a video

First step would be to try the B-U posts and see if it does the same thing. Might as well eliminate the whistle switch on that size. It sounds like the contacts of the whistle switch aren't providing the boost, or the shunt resistor isn't being switched in.
Just a thought, have you tested it with a different transformer? Does it run normally without the horn?
When running tandem with the power unit everything is bright but even the power unit flashes when I activate the horn.

My two units when on the track running seem to have a power shortage when horn is activated. I added a video but don't know why it didn't work. When the trains are moving on the track and I activate the horn both lights dim and the train slows.
Did you try any of the stuff I suggested?
The KW (and most other transformers) has a 2-step whistle/horn control. When you move the button or handle to the first position, the whistle/horn should activate and the train will slow down if you hold that first position. When you move to the second position, a bypass resistor is added that boosts the output so that the train will run normally. Are you seeing these two steps on your whistle/horn control? If not, the switch may be defective OR the resistor is damaged or disconnected.
When I hold the whistle on the train will uncouple. Weirdest thing I've ever seen!!!! I'm checking the manual now on the other posts and horn activation.
The B-U post, which way does that hook up. Right now I'm on A1 U2. Would b be 1 and U be 2. What exactly does the last rail do?

Could it be that someone rewired the couplers for Teledyne activation?
Hmmm. I guess that's a possibility. Why would that be done. I guess for a more realistic switching station I guess. Well. Hmmmm. How would I be able to tell? I noticed the video the person pressed the red button. On mine that's what switched the direction.
What and where could I find a normal train operating. Would someone be able to tell if I took the shell off and took a picture of the inside setup?
