Unplug transformer.  Take the four screws off transformer case. Lift case off and you can see if the studs have pulled or come loose from the copper strip that connects the four natural studs coming Thur the case.  You can also test by taking you natural lead from the dead track and trying it on another post from side that is working and see if train runs.  Grounding/natural posts seem to unattached themselfs from common copper strip.  There are repair terminal studs kits for this common problem. While the case is off look at carbon rollers to make sure they don't have flat spots
