Hello

I just received my Legacy U Boats.  These are my first diesel engines and my first experience with building an MU.  When I build them into a train and trigger tower-engineer dialog, and/or horn both engines respond and output the sound.  I am running Legacy v1.3.  The horn, microphone and crown icons are pictured above the lead engine and there are no icons above the second unit on the Legacy display in the build TR mode. I am not sure why the second unit is responding to the commands.

When I leave the crown above the lead engine and place the microphone and horn above the second unit then the MU works as indicated on the display, in that only the second engine's horn and dialog can be heard after the command is given.

So, what am I doing wrong?

thanks for the help

Hmm...  That's odd, because I got the two PARR models and ran them in an MU configuration, they worked just as advertised.

I had to start over with the MU as the first one you enter is the lead locomotive it seems, but other than that it all went together fine.  I actually like the horns coming from both, makes a neat sounding horn.  I tried it both ways, and they both worked.

Which U-Boat models do you have?

I don't think you did anything wrong. I had the same problem with another set of engines. The new boards behave this way. I bought it to the attention of Jon but he didn't have a pair of engines that did it. Put the microphone over the second engine and only that engine will talk. The horn coming from both engines is realy loud and that was ok with me.

Hi John,

Out of curiosity, when you built your MU with your U-Boats did you have them Nose to Tail or Tail to Tail?

When I build my UP U-Boats in an MU Tail to Tail (using DIR button to reverse the direction of the second engine's icon on the remote's LCD screen) both engines broadcast engineer and tower com announcements.  BUT, when I build the same engines in the same order in a Nose to Tail MU the lead engine is the only that broadcasts.

Anyway, I am not sure what is going on with engines, but I am guessing it is some kind of program glitch.  Simple solution...run them in the same direction!

I had them tail-to-tail and reversed the trailing locomotives direction.  I had to do the MU twice, for some reason after a short run, it forgot it the first time.  Doubtless I pushed the wrong button somewhere.  Once I redid it, it ran like a champ.  I had no problem with the audio coming only from the lead engine.  I actually tried the horn from one or both, and I had engine sounds from both, after all, they both have motors.

I think I'd flush out the configuration and start over and see how it goes.  Like I said, it took me two tries.
