Again understanding how this process works I will keep pushing forward as everybody assists me in crossing the bridge of understanding. I have 3 photos floating around somewhere of my career start with C&O B&O at Newport News and Huntington. Not being active in this forum in past years, I do not know how much you can stand of one writing about their railroad life of which mine is rather long as I am still active at 81 years. My grandson and I are building a 3 rail o gauge model layout sort of depicting the CRRNJ From Dunellen to Jersey City, Highlighted, with a 4 track main line operating, Newark Bay Drawbridge ,

Why not put it together in book form? There are lots of first person accounts of working for the railroads but there's always room for one more. It wouldn't have to be hardback - many are paperback only. I have over 150 first person accounts of working on the railroad. While I don't claim to have everything in this genre I do think what I have is fairly comprehensive. A check of the titles and railroads on which the author worked indicates I only have one for the B&O by Pratt published back in 1978.

I think I have a couple of stand alone recollections of working for the C&O in some of the first person account collections that cover railroading in general but I don't have a book by anyone who worked on the C&O that is specifically about their time on that road...so if what I have is a reasonable sampling of the field I, for one, would welcome a first person account of working for the C&O.

There's a thread on the Real Trains Forum, entitled "Tell Us A Good Story" (started 2 years ago by Forumite Rob Leese) on which several of us have posted good railroad stories. It would be great to see yours added to the other posts, keeping the true stories of the rail all together.
