Have a Prewar Lionel Tender, no #, so I figure before 1935. It is the same tender as the 258 steam outfit, but this has a Black Frame and a red top with a ladder at the back on one side. Please see pics. Would like to know more about it and an approx. value.

That is a 261T issued 1935 with Red 264E loco. Came only in two Catalogued Sets #278E (264E, 261T, 603, 603, 604 in light red), & #5236E (264E, 261T, 1717, 1719, 1722). Now it's no longer a mystery for you.
Source referenced from TCA Standard of the World, & Dave McEntarfer Prewar Sets & Doyle's Prewar Catalog. 1935 issue came in RED or Black. The Red tender came with nickel journals and Type 3 latch couplers.
Thanks guys, I also have the 1717, 1719, and 1722 cars in excellent condition, but do not have the engine, guess I'll start searching.
