Very nice video and layout.

Sweet - it was fun to see the big boy at speed.  Not going a mile an hour.  Cool layout.  Sixty days to build it.  That is ok.

Interesting I lived in San Diego for several years. It was a very nice place with quite a few hobby shops and several clubs. I was a member of the All Gauge Toy Train Association, a really great group of guys with many good friends.

The only train shop in Old Town when I was there was a place that really only did Thomas stuff for the little ones. Up the hill is Frank The Trainman and was the now closed hobby shop in Hillcrest. Good luck to you. Nice layout.

thanks for posting. Can anyone show up and run trains there?

for clarification the old town model railroad depot llc is not a club open for membership as of this date.  it was built by a private individual.  if you want to run your train on his layout all you have to do is call ahead and make arrangements.

 

ps, not my layout nor am I involved in it's operation.

Very cool layout in a nice high traffic area where it should get a lot of visitors and help to "infect" the o gauge bug in others!  

Yes there were quite a few visitors on Friday when I was there. I'm sure when summer time gets here,    and tourist season kicks in....it will be a crowded house at times. It's a great way to promote the hobby and Gary Hickok has done a fantastic job.

Sorry I missed you by a day.  I ran at the Depot on Saturday which is always a treat.  Tested out my new GoPro Hero 4.  I rigged a flatcar and ran it in front of some engines.  We'll see how they came out.  

Looks like a good candidate for the magazine, Doug! Send me an e-mail if you folks are interested and I'll reply with details about what's needed.

Like the use of Miller signs, headlights on the cars, buses and trucks.

The lay-out is ideal for a OGR article and video.
