Last Friday I was in the Asheville NC area and dropped by the layout that SMMRC is building. It looks like it will be a great layout when finished. I wish I lived closer and could take advantage of the layout and spent some time working on it.

Sorry I missed you and your wife Bob - It was nice of you to take the time to come by.
Our weekly meetings are Tues for now but Harold and Jerry aer often there during the day working on the building and the layout and would welcome guests anytime. I'll shoot a few new photos of the progress this evening and post them later tonight after I return from the club.
Here's where we were a little over a week ago. Since then, Harold has built a lot additional benchwork.

Sam,
Your group is making great progress!! I like the trestle!
Hi Sam,
Where are you guys located now? Still in Waynesville or are you closer to Asheville?

Hey Bob and good to hear from you. We're just north of I-40 near Waynesville.
Google 'Buffalo Creek Vacations' for directions and photos of the 'real' cabooses (and buffalo of course)
Just got in from a work session and we've made some progress this week. Added about 60% more table space with only the far corner to add which will tie the last two together.

We are actively soliciting membership and need help at this stage especially. Lots to do and new ideas are always welcome!

Looking even better, Sam! An interesting track plan coming together! I wish I could just retire right now, move down, and join you!
Besides photos my wife's aunt and uncle took when visiting Maggie Valley several times, I have a friend who moved from here just over the Virginia line from Asheville. He posts some beautiful photos on Facebook. Maybe a trip in the summer will have to suffice!
