The Long Island Rail Road had a fleet of Pennsy 2-8-0 locomotives, and the #104 was one of them. However, the Sunrise Special logo is authentic for a Long Island G5s #21 which is a 4-6-0. After I copy the artwork on #104's tender shell, it will be refinished with proper Long Island livery.

Throw some diesels behind those electrics and it would be prototypical.  Used to happen all the time when the wires were brought down.  Diesels would be sent to move the electrics and their train around the outage.

Thanks for the comments regarding my E-44 shot. Yes, despite the lack of catenary, we just had to triple head to those babies and let them loose! Only on the GREAT Standard Railroad of the World!!!

After some 13+ years since starting my layout, I think I have made my last layout addition and will be installing the last of my track and Ross turnouts (97) to complete my trackplan on my recently acquired Mianne benchwork. The siding will house a pulpwood/woodchip processing site.

Here is our Southern E6 No 2800 with the SR RR U28 behind pulling some mixed varnish...

Thanks for posting; it reminds me of the tunnels in Chicago that were used for moving merchandise until they flooded. There was a video "40 feet below" describing it.

Here's the most recent set of pictures taken during winter break, showing the progress on the layout. The scenery is about 50% complete, but I'm still hashing out the final positions of all the structures. Finally finished all the trees though!

Built my first layout.  It's semipermanent and nothing fancy, but it gives me a place to run trains!

My wife and I are expecting our first child, and we've been getting the nursery ready. One of the things we wanted (of course) is a train around the ceiling. This was my project today.
