I'm certainly envious, Roger! ARR and White Pass! That trip is in my future...one of these days!
PS3 B&O GP9 arrived this week. It leads a triple header of a RK GP9 dummy, and a RK PS2 Second PS3 now goes with the Canton switcher that arrive York week. Tied it into the older mule. Also have the older Premier Pacific that I picked up at Vince's Trains in York this spring

Over Memorial day weekend my son turned 2 so we took him to Huckleberry RR for a train ride. Even though it was well over 95 out he really enjoyed himself.
Tom - Nice staging of your collection of beautiful Southern locos!

That's a wonderfully executed vista, there, Roger, and a nice photo, too! I love such details as the ladder reaching from the canyon wall to the trestle, and the snow-shed (if that's what it's called) type of tunnel entrance. I wouldn't have thought of that but appreciate its authenticity and am glad to have been reminded of such sturctures. Also, that entire hillside in the lower right quadrant of the photo, with its random rockface - sizes; shapes; placements - and coloration, looks very, very realistic, to me. Cool!

Frank....Roger REALLY did just get back from Alaska and the photos are real pictures of his trip....

Frank,
You do know that is a Real Photo don't you??? I only wish I could model half as good as God did.
No. I didn't. I thought you cleverly slipped it in there to play with us a little. The coaches looked like toys to me. Also, in the top right corner, it looks like the mountian stopped and part of the room beyond is visible. If not, what is that at the top right corner, looking like shingles, or something non-mountain-ish, to me???
Roger, I'm actually so embarrassed I am sweating as I write this.

Hi Frank, I had to look to see what it was....it is a sleeve of a fellow passenger who is taking the same picture as I took. Look real good and you can see that it is a left forearm of a person. Hope you have a great weekend....I really do enjoy your posts Frank.
Awlawdee, talk 'bout feeling like two-cents-waitin-for-change (!)

Hi, that is the new Lionel Legacy Alco RS-11...Lionel item number is 6-38461.
Looks awesome Rich!
I have a question for you.
I plan on building my table layout this summer and I like the look of scaletrax a lot but I have heard that they are not being made in abundance and are hard to find sometimes. Is that true?
Thanks!
She wanted a new refrigerator and I wanted a Southern Crescent with passenger cars, nice fridge huh?

Moonson,
Don't feel bad I thought that particular picture was of a model railroad also. I think what throws you off is the lighting. Also the one tree in the foreground looks to perfect.
Either wat looks like a great trip.
Roger thanks for posting the photos.

Pennsy,
I really don't know what the status is right now with ScaleTrax availability. You can try Engine House Hobbies (www.Enginehousehobbies.net), Justrain.com or just call MTH directly and find out. Sorry I can't help more. Maybe someone else who knows can chime in.
Thanks, I'm really happy the way the fixed pilot turned out. Here is a few more photos with a little weathering. Just finished videoing these for the next DVD.

Chris,
Yes, That is the plan. We already have a MTH F40 which we gutted and kitbashed into a Amtrak cabbage unit. That will be the next unit to be painted. I will need to custom make the Downeaster decals and the Genesis Phase V decals. I have the HO scale decals as a starting point. Will scan and scale them up to 1/48. Our layout will have North Station with 4 tracks. The Garden and the Boston skyline as a backdrop for that section of the layout. We already have 9 Lionel Amfleet cars. 4 of them will be used for the Downeaster.
