Here's a few shots of two hoppers I just weathered. The first is a toy-like Lionel O-27 hopper which had great graphics simulating an old PRR H-21 hopper converted to an icebreaker car. For some reason, Lionel painted it in boxcar red rather than black, but otherwise, the graphics are identical to the prototype. It was used to break out icicles in the Gallitzin Tunnels west of Horseshoe Curve.  Even though undersized and toy like, it was a good car to stick on one of the short tracks around my newly completed turntable, so I weathered up the 15 year old car for display on that part of the layout. There is also a photo of the prototype:

While I was at it, I also weathered this Weaver Lackawanna cement hopper weathered using acrylic paints and chalks:

For my 50th LCJ&I Lines video, I'm celebrating by running 50 freight cars at the same time on my small layout. This involves creating a 3-diesel Lionel Legacy lashup to provide motive power for heavy diecast coal cars, and running two consists simultaneously, since one 50-car consist can't fit on my track layout. It all fits, just barely.
