C.SAM got me thinking......if I could only kep one loco.....it'd be my Weaver scale PRR T-1 loco!!! Allow me to tell a little story why.

Back in the dark ages.....really early 1970's.....I went over to a buddies house to work on model cars. I was a model railroader but model race cars were dominate at the time. My buddies Dad and my future father-in-law was a model railroader too. He didn't have a layout but collected and built Walthers O scale car kits. My model railroading was all West coast based as I had lived there 1960-70. He kept trying to give me these Pennsy Power books to read.  I had no interest in that old time broke down railroad. I modeled current Western roads. (in HO BTW) When I started dating my now wife and my buddies sister.....I took his offer of a Pennsy book as a way to stay on his good side.

WOW! This old time broke RR had some wild ideas....and really was the 'Standard of the world'! Electrics, turbines and huge Art Deco Lowey locomotives (I knew Lowey from Studebaker) I found the T-1 and read all I could. At the time most printed material was about how much a flop it was. But I loved it and it became my favorite. I bought a Bowser metal HO kit of the loco. Building it and showing it to my girlfriends Dad made me much more acceptable! Long story short 35 years later I still have that Bowser PRR T-1 and my Fatrher-in-law, even at 80+, will still talk trains!

Why my Weaver T-1 means more than just a neat model train......

Mike,

Yes they were part of the kit, but the detail parts can vary according to Bar Mills.
