Weekend tinplate photos/videos 10/6/17!

Tippco of Nurnberg, Germany made between 1912 and 1971 a large number of tinplate toys, mostly all types of cars (race cars, trucks, fire fighters, and highway systems). They made a few wide gauge floortrains. Here is my Tippco clockwork locomotive:

When run the clockwork also moves a small piston in a whistle which is supposed to sound like a train whistle:

Here is some home-brewed tinplate (except the tender and caboose) for Octoberfest.

All tuned up, cleaned up, and ready to run this Holiday Season...besides, orange trains are perfect for October!

The french brand S I F (Société Industrielle de Ferblanterie) which later became a part of JEP has produced around 1910-15 some very nice tinplate trains. This one is in need of some restauration but doesn't look too bad for a 100 years old toy......

A chrome Ives 1134 is waiting a refill at the Ives water tower.

A very diminutive electric Fandor freight set for the American market.  Everything, including the engine superstructure is lithographed tin - cowcatcher is removable.   Note the gearing on the rear locomotive driver.

Newest for my layout, from Barclay Company: Mommy and baby Susan, Rosie, and Holly. All blondes this time! My male to female population is greatly skewed towards the males. 

More ladies will join eventually, and soon a bunch of RR workers now that I have Roundhouse sections.

A Bing station I recently acquired.  My first piece made by Bing - now I’m in trouble!  I don’t know much about these, but it was just too cool to pass up.  Anyone out there know about when it was made or other details?

Your station was manufactured both before and after WWI and, like the large made-for-the-American-market freight shed, was a copy of the Ives station from the same period.  According to Hertz's Book Collecting Model Trains the trademark would date the station to just after WWI.
