Minute by minute, knowlege that was once commonplace in the past is receding into history.
When people see our 0-4-0T engine (with steam swirling around it) next to an 80 ton center cab, I'm still asked by adults which one is the steam engine.

One possibility is that the copy was written by someone who was not a train enthusiast. It takes a bunch of people with different talents to operate an organization and not every person is going to be well versed in every aspect. That was a common problem with the secretary where I work, who was a wizard in the office but sometimes made similar mistakes to this one when it came to terminology. That is why proofreading by someone else is important, although I try not to get bent out of shape when the odd little one slips by.
Well, the tender is kind of a cargo car, it carries coal in this case.
