Which Building do you start in....

Orange, then the rest. I do this on Thursday and Friday, and just sorta drag along on Saturday until I can't go any further. Sometimes I'll see something I missed, sometimes the price on something has dropped, and sometimes I just walk around like a kid in a candy store.

I start in the red hall since it is the closest to the parking lot I usually park in.

Orange. North side of the concession stand. It's just habit. Usually hang with a slew of Forum members in the hour or so before. Make a right inside the Hall and head for Vince's Trains and Sidetrack Hobbies.

I have always started in the Orange Hall and work my way around to the left. Brown Hall, Purple, Silver, Blue.  I'm more interested in the new stock than the older stuff.

On Thursday, I start in the Red Hall because there is a dealer there that always has stuff I like at prices I really like.  The good stuff is usually gone pretty quickly, so I make a point to go there first.

Then I hit Orange, Brown, Purple, White, Blue and Silver, pretty much in that order.

On Fridays, I go where the wind takes me.  By then, I have done my serious buying and on Fridays I look for the impulse items.

I forgot to state my preferences in the original posting.  For years I always started in

the Blue Hall and then went up the hill to White and Red to begin the repetitive circle.

A few years ago, after eBay became prominient, I started beginning in the Orange Hall, and followed that circle.  Last York, I started in the Blue again, for not much new

was showing up in the Orange Hall....Atlas had few or no new reefers, etc.  This year

I don't know.....

I like to start way in the back. Then move towards orange one at a time. I always find room for orange.

Orange, because I'm looking for stuff other than trains. There are 2 diecast car dealers I hit first. Actually, the first thing I hit at 11:30 on Thursday is the stand across from the orange hall that sells a great Italian sausage w/fried onions and peppers.

After seeing the entire meet, I leave on Friday and stop at Lancaster archery, then at Crackenberry Farms antique Mall in Paradise. That takes care of 3 of my hobbies.

Yes, I am sorry that diecast car dealer from Lancaster is no longer one of the first booths you hit when you walk into the Orange Hall...

I usually buy 1 or 2 American Excellence models from the Diecast Direct booth (Orange Hall near Lionel). They will bring a model that you want to the meet if you contact them ahead of time.

Usually start with a quick pass through Orange, since I'm often looking for the new blowouts, then come back after the member halls close.  Might try Red next time, just to mix it up.  I save the museum (er, Blue/Silver) for last, since it's always the same stuff that's been there for 20+ years with the same price tags.

Always the orange. 

Always the Orange, for 2 reasons: 1) so that we can touch base with several of the dealers we have become friends with over the years; and 2) to check out the Lionel and MTH vendor booths.

I'm pretty much tethered to my table in the Orange Hall. If there is a lull in the action, I may get to walk around a bit. I also try to get to the Black Hall to see the layouts. I'll be visiting Joe and Gary at Weaver, going over some details for a yearly club car project from another forum that I participate in. Since I live about an hour north of Weaver, I was asked several years ago to be the committee chair. 

I really don't have any more room anywhere in the house or in my shop to store trains, and until at least one of my remaining sons move out, there is no available space for a layout, the only items I buy are the club cars. We do either a three or six car set, and I have faithfully collected all the cars since the beginning. 

I have been considering building an O gauge garden layout, but I am still limited on storage space. I have to store my boxes in a neighbor's garage attic.

I start in the orange hall because I'm interested in the new stuff (mostly scenic materials).  I then go to the brown, purple, black(if there's a layout that is set up) and end with the blue.

Orange hall first to check out Charlie Ro and see what G scale stuff he brought.  Then I look for O scale stuff.

Brown hall next to see what Beth from Public Delivery Track brought.

Purple hall to check what G scale stuff Nicholas Smith (I think) brought.

Black hall to see layout if there is one.

Then if I haven't spent it all by then I'll just cruise the other halls.

Then if I have any $ left over I usually head to the casino in WV on the way home.

Every york where I start depends on what is on my wish list, but there is always time to get around the entire show on Thursday. Friday I usually start at one of the Far halls and work my way back to the Orange hall

Orange first. Turn right and hit Sidetrack and then on to TM Video, Grybowski's, Mega Steam, Nicholas Smith. Will stop by Glenn Snyder's if I need shelving. And then to the back for Chas. Ro and the Lionel and MTH booths.

Then the Blue/Silver and others.

Well....last York was my first so after the hospital emergency crew revived me (my eyes had to be reinserted!)...I for obvious reasons started in the Orange Hall.  Had a wonderful time meeting many of our advertisers and potential new advertisers.  Then I went off to find other OGR advertisers and supporters.  Late each afternoon, I took about an hour to just walk around and finally on Saturday, I quickly went through the member halls just to see what they looked like.  I was in total awe!!!

I liked the Green Hall and the guy with the push stick and coffee can train. Too bad they're gone now.
