......the next Jim's Train Shop?

I've heard of Patrick's Trains, checked their website several times, but never ordered.  Having read the postings centered around the Big Boy pricing, taking a second look.  Really hearing their name mentioned more and more.  With Jim Sutter retired, Jason apparently closing, looking like Pat's may be stepping up to the plate to fill a void.

What's your thoughts?

Dear Sir, I've yet to wail and or moan over anything....period!!! I stated a fact in my earlier post and I stand by it. Have a wonderful day.

I know an older thread, but Pat is GREAT.  I have only bought a few things from him, but he (a) remembers who I am (b) acts as if I was buying $10,000 worth of stuff each time and (c) is a real train enthusiast that knows his stuff.  Great person, great experiences.  Everything has been on his web site, by phone or at York.  But it has ALL been good.

I don't think there will ever be another Jim's Train shop.  It was THE place to get MTH stuff at awesome prices and awesome service.  Thanks again Mr. Sutter!

Jason tried to take it over, but you can see on those other threads he has already thrown in the towel.

I don’t think he threw in the towel, he just hit hard times in his life.  Jason is a great guy and I hope he gets through his difficulties okay.

That may well be the case.  But by "going dark" and not answering the phone or answering his customers questions about pre-orders, he has damaged his reputation.  (I have a pending $1400 pre-order with him, and I have no way to know what its fate will be).

A good reputation is so hard to build up, but is easily destroyed.  That's certainly true in retail.
