Wobbly front right wheel | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Just received a used Lionel Southern Crescent 2-8-4 6-38607 that I purchased on eBay. Loco runs decent but I notice at slow speeds the front right wheel raises off the track and wobbles. It seems to keep slow speed operation from being as smooth as I like.

Is this a bent axle? The left wheel on the same axle works and is a smooth rotation.

Yes or a bad off center hole on the wheel.

If you cannot return this Ebay Prize, plan on replacing the wheel and axle soon.

If you want to keep it then yes you’ll need to have it repaired. Pull the wheel and axle to determine which needs replacing.

Thanks! I ordered a new one this morning. Removed the rollers and the plate below them to expose the axle. Confirmed it is indeed bent.
