Hello all.  I’m new to the site and forum. I am looking to purchase a Lionel: 6-58564: Tastykake Cupcake Boxcar for my brother’s 70th birthday.  He has been a train buff since childhood; our GF and father were both engineers for the D&H RR.

His, what he calls, local freight train, consists of rolling stock from NE PA.  He is missing this particular boxcar, I would love to present this car to him for his 70th surprise party this December.

If anyone has one for sale, or knows where I may be able to purchase one, please let me know.  I can be reached at:

Thanks in advance for any help.  Bob Bifano

Are you specifically interested in the Lionel car or would another car depicting TastyKake work just as well?  I bought a TastyKake car from RGS Trains a while back for $69.  If you google "RGS Trains TastyKake Car", you will get some links to images.  I'm not looking to sell mine, but you might be able to contact the guy at RGS and see if he has any more or would be willing to make one for you.  Good luck with your search .  If you are not familiar with RGS Trains, he is a guy who does limited edition stuff.  Also, I'm not sure how long ago it was that I bought mine, so what I paid for mine could be off in either direction.  Here is the contact info off the last business card I have for him:

I recently bumped into the widow of a dear friend of mine who passed away a couple of years ago.  Naturally, we began talking about him. I remembered he was a big Lionel fanatic.  He was a ham operator and had all things Lionel. Two walls of his radio room were filled with rolling stock, locomotives, and diesels.  I asked if she still had his collection.  She said she did, and that she was keeping all his things as a remembrance of him. She never touched his radio room. I told her the story of my brother, and she invited me to take a look.

A few days later, I visited their home, and, you guessed it, there was the Tastykake car! She told me to take it; she didn’t want any money. I’m so excited to give it to my brother.  Unreal.6087AA80-668E-4598-A1E0-902BA4861B5D
