After several years gathering New York Central equipment we are looking to add some Lehigh Valley to the roster. We have a Williams GP that we are switching to a Lehigh Valley shell and upgrading to TMCC. I really like the MTH LV tank car that's due out soon. I didn't pre order so I'm hoping to find one somewhere. Also looking for an LV caboose, just not sure I want the porthole version from Lionel. Lastly my uncle worked for Whitehall Cement Company (serviced by LV) so I'd like to find a couple hoppers of theirs. A LHS did some special runs a few years back.

Hopefully my last new engine:  Lionel's new USRA Heavy Mike in Milwaukee Road livery.  Don't need it, can't afford it, don't even have room for it, but, the"road" had 100 of them and they were the largest power for them from 1919 until about 1938 when they bought the first S-2, 4-8-4's.  They lasted on the "road" until the end of steam in about 1956, or so.  I guess that I've "got to" have one.

Reconsidering, I guess that maybe if MTH does re-introduce the Fairbanks H-10-44, once again, after some 12 or 14 years ince their last production run, and they do it in Milwaukee Road's "Hiawatha" colors, I guess that maybe I'd have to step up to the plate for this engine.

Okay, now my secrets are out.  the manufacturers now know what to build in order to sell an item to me!

With some hesitation because of the price tag, I've pre-ordered the Lionel USRA Heavy Mikado in Milwaukee Road. As Paul points out, it was the mainstay of the Milwaukee Road's mainline freight operations for 20 years, so I can't pass it up.

Other than that, I'm keeping an eye out for good deals on Standard Gauge McCoy circus rolling stock and 1:43 steam era automobiles. I don't need much of anything, I'm losing my urge to collect, and I'm out of storage space so anything I buy from here on out is going to be very carefully considered. Hopefully I'll be selling more than I buy.

been looking at 665/2065/8206 Hudsons. Also watching 226Es. Nice deal on one on the sell board right now.We had to buy a new car a couple months ago, so I've been waiting on the tax refund for some play $$. We stopped at a local antique shop the other day, and one dealer always has a nice selection of trains. He had a good price on a 646, thinking of grabbing it and just getting a 665 boiler front. He also has a really nice set of green 2400 cars for a way better price then those on the bay. And he also has a really nice 2224W tender, and on and on......

Have engines coming, but a recent eBay snag is one I've been trying to hunt down for some time. Basically, ATSF had a few "Drover Cars" which were used on livestock manifests. The livestock handlers rode in these during the trip. They had bunks, seats and tables. Some were later converted to mixed train cabooses by sealing off the bunk area (the tall windows) and cutting in a baggage door. I was able to get a Drover car a few years back (still have to paint the critter) and won this Ajin brass mix train caboose last weekend. I guess I need to get off my caboose and paint the Drover car.

For comparison, here's the Ajin Drover car.

Wood, screws, and some more wood!

I'm sloooooooowly rebuilding the layout, adding additional square footage and replacing all my O-54 an O-63 curves with O-72 and O-80 curves so that I can run my scale passenger cars.

Next planned O gauge purchase is a Lionel NS ES44AC on pre-order.  I would pop for a Lionel NS Reading Heritage unit if I could find one at a good price.

I have been very focused for the last couple of years and have not purchased anything that was not on my Buy List. The result is my Buy List has gotten smaller and the few remaining items are hard to find (at a reasonable cost).  After my recent Atlas O PRR B28 acquisition, I'm down to four.  My next item will be one of these:

- Lionel 6-58509 LCCA NS Lighted Eagle 2012 Convention car

- 3rd Rail PRR 4-6-4-4 Q1, unskirted

- K-Line K4680-30007 PRR 18" Pullman "Chambersburg Inn"

- Atlas X-29 PRR Express boxcar ( a # I don't have)

Well, looked again at the catalogs....an MTH UP RPO is $99.  D'ruther have Rock Island, Mopac, or Burlington.  Two Lionel Rock Island cars, a coach and a combine, are

$300.  No RPO for that Lionel Rock Island set.  Seems like the Lionel pass. cars are

stickered at $150. Wonder what discount order price is?  That heavy Mikado mentioned above is available in a LOT of road names, including MoPac, and, UNLETTERED!  I don't remember seeing either that or so many road names.  Makes me wonder what roads did use them?  Seems like they are priced like articulateds used to be. Only thing I might buy is a Weaver Baldwin 2-8-0, if one shows up, priced right.  Everything else I'd buy has not been made.

I may have one for you to consider shortly. I just bought a two car lot that includes a Lionel Louisville & Nashville w/coil covers 16358 and a CSX gondola with coil covers. I bought it for the CSX gondola so I'll be selling the L&N.

I've done the same thing. Lehigh Valley stuff is harder to find. The LV had a line that ran right behind my house when it had to skirt around Buffalo to get to Tift St. yard. I have two LV cabeese. One is an MTH Premier and one a Weaver. Both are NE style. The MTH is superior IMO. It couples and tracks better and has more add on detail.

I just purchased the fasttrack necessary for the layout featured in January 2015 OGR. I purchased the benchwork for the 4 by8  layout at York that my grandchildren will build while they are visiting my wife at her summer place in CT.  Setting the track in place in the basement for the kids to start building this weekend.

.
Preorders for me, too ....... 3 engines from Atlas .... that I truly expect to see this fall.

Bad thing .... I had to sell stuff to be able to afford this stuff. I NEED some engines. Lol.

I think I will take a stroll through Nicholas Smith, though ... and buy something that screams out at me, just to get it out of my system.

Good luck. Hopefully the replacement trucks will not fall apart like the recent ones have.

Anyone notice how Bingo Player" always asks just one question & then never returns to the conversation that he himself started?  If you are still "out there" Bingo, just which engine do you plan on buying?
