Hello ogr folks,

im trying to buy an mth-z4000 transformer to run mth and Lionel trains.

if i go to trains.com they run from $300-$700. Other than condition is there anything else that is different between the $300 and the $700 unit?

also I’d prefer to buy one from a forum member in case you have one.

Stay away from the first run with serial number 0398. They may have a voltage leakage problem that is repairable, but not many techs want to do it. Also, the control board used in that version is unique from the later versions and is not available.
