I want some affordable prices. Guess those belong in the "off the wall" catagory, right kamerades?

Legacy PRR E44 electric
A Legacy F7 Hiawatha
Some Ringling Brothers cars like they made with K-LIne.
More modern switchers.
So far it looks like the only common items are the UP 4-8-2 and the Vision Line F units. Other items I've heard people want are the Southern 4501, NYC Niagra and NYC Hudson (Dreyfuss and Unshrouded).
How about a Union Pacific Passenger Boxcar #9336?:
I also feel that there aren't enough UP Excursion passenger cars. I think they should also do additional UP Excursion cars, like the "Art Lockman" baggage car and the "Sunshine Special" coach.
ATSF Doug posted:So far it looks like the only common items are the UP 4-8-2......
I'd buy it right now. Please give me 2 versions-black and TTG, with appropriate details specific to each.
Lionel makes the PS-5 gondola. The SOUTHERN Railway acquired over 900 of the PS-5 gondolas. They can make 6 road numbers of the SOUTHERN PS-5 gondolas.

Scale steam: Maybe a few more Berkshires, I'd like to see the MI Central re-released, but they probably won't
Scale diesel: CN/GTW, NS, or CSX GP38-2s
Scale freight: Thrall double stack well car
Scale passenger: Amtrak Horizon cars

Too be fair, not all UP SD70ACe units have headlights on the nose. This unit is the one modeled by Lionel in 2007.

Here's what I would like to see!
- Lionel post a poll on OGR on what everyone wants made.
- Lionel build one off units, per the poll, in the desired road name
- All these products completed in a month or two
- Lionel charge $25 per unit
- Each unit run perfectly
- Lionel offer a lifetime warranty, with free shipping, on every item
Then, just maybe, we can see some of the over the top whining that goes on finally stop! But then again, I would bet it still wouldn't!
Boston and Maine Legacy equipped Mogul (with a different cab number this time) and a B&M Legacy equipped Ten-Wheeler. A B&M Consolidation or an Atlantic type would dent my wallet as well.
Scale Diesel/Electric: SD40-2 in BN bicentennial paint scheme, cab #1876.
Scale Steam: E6 4-4-2 in PRR late 40s paint scheme.
Scale Freight: PRR X29B, X41b, and/or X40b in Circle Keystone or Merchandise Service Phase 1 paint schemes.
Scale Passenger: The remaining AFT showcase, display, control, power and storage cars. A 21" tool car. And TTX F85C flatcars. Non-AFT: Southern Railway 21" all silver passenger cars (no black roof).
I'd like an accessory. Vision Line quality and engineering, designed around the Shuttle. For those that noted it could never be built to scale, I understand. But, I did notice when Menards listed the Saturn 5 on a flatcar, folks did buy them. So here goes: A Vehicle Assembly building with the shuttle and the solid rocket boosters hanging as they did the real VAB. Then the boosters are mated to the Shuttle, it is lowered onto the caterpillar, moved to the launch site and requisite sound, in the VAB, command center, etc. simulated exhaust and smoke at the launch, with, maybe the shuttle rising a few inches. Returns to the launch pad, onto the caterpillar and returned to the VAB, repeat. Cars carrying the Shuttle and the boosters, etc. Maybe geared to the LC+ line?
ALL. I want to correct some misinformation I posted above. Mike from Lionel corrected me in that the Amercan Freedom Train display cars in the recent 2016 catalog are in fact 18" cars, not 21" cars I said they were. That means Lionel's cars are the correct length.
I am particularly interest in some smaller diesel switchers (UP or Santa Fe) that can operate on O45 curves in yards.

Tin plate conventional, no can motors, no electronics/old school.
Re-issues of basic locos O (150/250 series) and standard (8/8E), with bright two tone paint.
Basic tinplate starter sets (engine and two cars), something to build on.
Re-issue of the Dreyfus 221 with smoke and whistle (basic).
All at affordable prices.
They will probably never do this as command for tinplate and non-prototype is not as in demand as all the details/bells/whistles/wireless remotes, running multiple trains on one track and voice chatter.
Just wishful thinking.

I had a 2018 as a child in the 1950s and was looking for one in excellent condition. Guess what, I found one that was new in the box and never run! I was at the NJ Highrailers open house about three years ago and someone there was selling trains, including this one. I was shocked, never thought I'd see one like that.

Steve, I only wanted an ATSF, BNSF, FEC or KSC ES44 so the "Uncle Pete" SD70Ace doesn't help

A Legacy scale Texas & Pacific #610 2-10-4 in Freedom Train paint along with that class of engines in their everyday working paint schemes. I don't believe there has ever been a 3 rail scale version of this engine made by anyone. Send an email to Lionel and let them know if you'd like one made.

How about a scale Amtrak Genesis?
Legacy scale Warbonnet F-3s, as someone else mentioned. These should be coming soon, I'd think. Also, 18" and 15" plastic passenger cars (as long as aluminum is in the past). Would really like to see more Legacy traditional F-3 sets, and LionMaster engines as well.
I would like to see 3 to 4 new Legacy Steam Locomotives that have the Cylinder Steam smoke effects in addition to the Whistle Steam Smoke effects. I missed out on the Cylinder Steam models.
Minneapolis, Northfield and Southern Baldwin transfer diesel complete with the Hancock air whistle sounds. Since that's not like to happen, I'd settle for a more common EMD unit, like the SD39 (with said air whistle, though...it's got to have the air whistle).
I know, MN&S is not mainstream enough for Lionel. This would probably have a better chance with Atlas O or even MTH.

Very true. But Lionel did make a souped up version of the 2378 AB in their very short-lived "Scale Postwar Series" of a few years ago.
I picked up this AB set on sale at a very good price and it does the trick for me as far as that set is concerned. Very nice!
The Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern SD39 diesel-electric locomotive is possible since they have the new SD38/SD39/SD40 road specific models. The MNS SD39s were repainted in the SOO LINE scheme.
To match the Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern SD39 diesel-electric locomotive they would need to have the MNS Bay-Window Caboose produced.
Lionel has not yet produced standard O scale Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern boxcars.
This MNS scheme can be applied to the similar Double-door 50' Boxcar.
