Train length was 100.67 feet, train weight was 53.9 lbs...both not including the DD350 Diesel. At 1/48th scale, the prototype length is .92 miles. Train had 1 loco, 61 boxcars, 27 tankers, 27 hoppers and 1 caboose.

Club scenery effort is a work in progress.

The gentleman, club member Al Maiella, in the white polo owns all the boxcars, tankers and hoppers.  Diesel is 2012 model Lionel train;  Lionel caboose is 57 years old.

My debt to Al is now up to 2 meatball subs.

hello guys and gals...........

very impressive train, but noticed that most of the rolling stock is older lionel and do they have weights in them as 53.9 pounds isn't much for 100 cars ?  The lionel DD35 has only 4 of its 8 axles powered with 4 traction tires and plastic body or shell and of course 2 can motors.  I wonder if anyone has a scale die cast big boy or challenger, even a y6b to try that ?

Sweet!  Hopefully I'll make the next open house and can see the layout and all that's new since my last visit.
