hello guys and gals...........

very impressive train, but noticed that most of the rolling stock is older lionel and do they have weights in them as 53.9 pounds isn't much for 100 cars ?  The lionel DD35 has only 4 of its 8 axles powered with 4 traction tires and plastic body or shell and of course 2 can motors.  I wonder if anyone has a scale die cast big boy or challenger, even a y6b to try that ?

Long trains look great!

I have to question the reliability of the Lionel couplers.

What’s the secret?

Lionel couplers have a tendency to open up when just running 20 or more cars.

I wonder if they were all super glued shut. ???

I use small rubber bands to keep the couplers closed.  We keep bags of them at our club.

It can be a real nail biter, LOL!

You never know when one coupler will give it up at random.

When I discover a problem car, I’ll add a band.

You can use small black cable ties or the twist ties from garbage bags too.  The MTH and Lionel couplers always pop with big loads.  Only one that I very rarely have a problem with is the Atls couplers which are great

Mike, good video...  Just got a chance to view it with all that's been going on...  I have a scale Big Boy; we should try the train again with that pulling as Tiffany suggested above and see what happens...
