Hey Guys, I am kit bashing an old Lionel Gateman accessory, to replace the blue man with a different character, and to shorten one side of the bottom platform.  (The excess inch or so on the right side of the unit as it faces you.)   I am not touching or disturbing the operation of the solenoid underneath, or any other mechanics.

I am checking connections by hooking it up to my constant voltage line from my transformer (14 volt), and running the common line on the accessory to the common rail on the layout.

When I activate the unit, though, it buzzes really loud.   Sounds like a dentist drill, or one of the old Electric Needle machines that use to hang on the wall of a doctor, for burning off moles.

Is this thing suppose to be this loud?    (It would drowned out the horn or bell on most of my small engines.)

Thanks for any info.
