I pay attention to mostly western US railroads, particularly UP and ATSF, so I'm not up to speed on the NYC. I figure someone here is an expert.
What locomotive was prototypical on the 20th Century Limited with the green pullman heavyweight cars shown on pages 88-89 of the new Lionel 2012 Signature catalog? Did a non-streamlined Hudson (e.g., a Vision Hudson) pull these? Weren't these heavyweights run earlier than the streamlined Dreyfus?

The 20th Century Limited dates from 1902. The unstreamlined Hudsons would have pulled these heavyweights as well as Pacifics before them.

I have similar cars and I pull them with a scale K-line Hudson from a few years back. I have seen pictures of this combination.
I did notice that there is a Van Twiller combo and these cars do look familiar, are these reissues of the 6-19060 set? They do look very close but without seeing them in person to compare I can't be 100% sure.
