MTH has made several types of Southern high-hoods. In recent memory, they made a high-hood SD35 (2015 volume 2) and a SD45. MTH also made a high-hood Southern GP35.

Lionel just shipped the Hi-Short Hood GP30 models.
Hi, Joe.
MTH has released high nose versions of the SD24 and SD45 painted for Southern and Lionel's SOU high nose GP30 was just recently released. In addition, high nose SD35s have been offered by both Atlas and MTH. There's also an Atlas high nose GP35. If you plan to purchase MTH's SD24, make sure you get one from the second SOU release as MTH fudged up the first run and painted the models green instead of the correct black.
I hope this helps.
Bob
Yeah, I just got my Southern hi-nose GP30 2 weeks ago. Current production.
You know, an FM Trainmaster is a "hi-nose/hood" loco; been made by everybody in Southern (MTH's is the most SOU-accurate, by far) - but stick with the K-line or MTH - the others are just copies of the PW Lionel, at least esthetically.
The Internet is a tool, you know...searches/manufacturer's on-line catalogues/"find a product" on MTH/Lionel/etc websites. You're on the Internet right now.
Thanks all...just what i needed...joe
