This 810 has been sitting in the roundtuit pile for about a year. The prior owner liked red............for everything except the trucks. The brass was also painted, but bronze. This is actually an early version that should be terracotta and maroon with a peacock boom. I chose to do it in colors more like the later version. Being an early version, the windows were painted, not brass so I painted mine. I think this color combo will look better with my Boys & Girls sets.

As a side note, winter has finally been removed from the layout.

Oooo... nice crane.

I love lithographed tinplate, but I'm also glad most of the manufacturers switched to enamel:  There are few things more satisfying than a complete disassembly, cleaning, blasting, priming, repaint and rebuild, just like new - especially when it's restoring one that's been badly mucked with to presentable condition.  Good for the next 100 years.  Nice to see one done so well, thanks for the photos.
