I have a couple of small issues that I am sure have straightforward answers:

1. I recall in past years being able to copy an entire thread and save it on my PC for later reference, complete with pictures etc. But this does not seem to work anymore. Is there a way to do this?

2. What is wrong when I go back to add a word or two to a post before publishing, and instead of simply inserting the new stuff, it is overwriting the previous stuff letter for letter? I remember having this exact same issue on the forum a few years back that just about drove me nuts, but I can't recall the fix.

Thanks, Rod

To save an entire thread..

  • In your browser go to FILE - SAVE AS
  • When you use the "Save As" command, your browser will give you a few different file formats to save the page. Be sure to choose "Web Page, complete" as the saved file format. When you save a web page in this format, the browser will save everything - all the text, all the images, and all the links.
  • Save the html file somewhere on your computer.
  • When saved this way, only the current page will be saved.

If you are saving a multi-page thread with a lot of responses, you have a couple of choices.

CHOICE 1: Save the pages individually

  • Save page 1.
  • Go to Page 2.
  • Save page 2.
  • Etc.

CHOICE 2: Display more posts on a single page

  • Set your browser so it will display more posts on a single page. How do you do that?
  • Scroll to the bottom of page 1. There you will see this:
  • Click on "200" and your browser will display up to 200 posts on a single page.
  • If the thread has less than 200 posts, you will get the whole thread in one file.
  • If the thread has more than 200 posts (which would be very unsual), then you'll have to save each page individually.

You can also just Bookmark the pages you want to have available.
