Layout space remains undetermined, but one of my potential spaces would accommodate an 8x14, plus or minus a few inches. This plan is inspired by: https://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/...2x6-fastrack-modules
The middle would be left open, for access. Left, top, and right sides are against the walls, so would limit the depth to 24-30" maximum. The green is O72 minimum, and the orange is O60 minimum. So...we can run the Dreyfuss. And all diesel equipment should be okay anywhere. There are a few variations here, with different "yard" and passing siding options. I may like the simplest version, the best tho. The others might start to get too busy with the amount of track.
There is an annoying number of the small fitter pieces, but everything closes and the track spacing should be pretty good overall. As far as operations, the O72 passing sidings should allow for two trains to occupy the outer, or for the outer train to pull over and let the inner train operate on the outer. On the inside, there are a few sidings to switch. There won't be room to store much rolling stock on the layout, and with the limited space, I think I would prefer some engine storage. I think the game here is to maximize operating options without going overboard or overcomplicating the track plan.
Anyway, I know I post a lot of these, but someday, hopefully later this year, we'll have a build thread. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
