I would've thought that bear would be hibernating by now.

Thanks, Dallas. For the river I used the technique on the YouTube video: Marklin of Sweden: Toilet Paper plus White Glue Equals Realistic Water.

I had a great time using that technique for modeling the water. I bought the docks at The Big E in Springfield, MA in January.

There should be a young Mark in there fishing too............maybe with a little engineer cap on his head .

I did go fishing with Dad and his two friends several times in my teens and early twenties.  I never got the knack, probably because I got bored quickly.

Still liking that blowing snow Paul and how you are working with the black and white and mixing in color.  NICE.

FOR TODAY:  WIth bell clanging, brakeman Amos McCoy rides the front step of an 0-8-0 as the engine slowly backs up so it can slip into a siding.  Once tucked away on the siding Amos will align the switch so the J class can pass by on the lead track to the passenger station where its' train awaits.  Sneezy Clompford, standing beside the pipes, holds his lantern high up signaling the engineer of the J to hold still for the time being.  ..... just another day on the railroad!

Patrick, as always...great scenes above, and congratulations on your article and pictures in the recent O Gauge magazine.  Your layouts realistic scenes and themes are incredible pieces of work and creativity.  I showed my wife your article and pics...she especially enjoyed all the snow scenes and holiday spirit that your pictures brought to life. Thanks for all your efforts!

FOR TODAY:  It's the holiday season and the Railway Express Agency is super busy!  Clem carefully maneuvers his forklift between express boxcar and trailer.  Max and JD look on.

Otto the truck driver just finished smoking a cigarette and Lucky Luke takes a break sitting on the door sill of the empty REA boxcar.

A busy Friday night on North Main...

Great photos everyone! I would post some, but all you would see is track stacked on the bench work and a big mess! LOL But one day I will be back posting when I really have something to show!

Boy Mike .......TRACK STACKED  and a BIG MESS.......sounds like we're gonna be looking at a lot of creative activity coming up soon .

I bet on the Bear family.

I took this pic nearly 20 years ago in the western Mass area...I believe around Deerfield.  I should have had a wide angle lens with me to capture the second identical caboose to the left.  My brother was driving and the car was moving in traffic, so I had to be quick with the shutter!  I recall seeing an Atlas replica of this caboose in a train store on the Cape sometime after taking the picture. I should have bought it right then for $50...   I've tried to find one like it ever since with no luck yet, and I've been looking for the picture for years to post here and finally came across it the other day while sifting through the old picture box in the basement...lol

FOR TODAY:  Brakeman Scooter Higgins rides the front deck of the local freight's locomotive.   Looks like these boxcars are about to picked up.  ... Just another day on the railroad.

Great scene of a great car! I know the '57 was, and still is more popular, but ya can't beat a '55 Nomad IMHO! It better reflects its Corvette styling roots. I sure hope they get her home with her festive cargo and in the garage before the street salting starts!
