After watching your layout for sometime now I get the impression that you must really have the electrical system well in hand sir.   Nice

@farmerjohnn, your layout is coming to fruition, it’s simply Amazing. Beautiful pictures of a model railroad like no other. Your scenery makes the characters (the trains) really look fantastic. I’m working on my turntable and no pictures yet. Happy Railroading Everyone…

Thanks Dallas and Larry.  Trains are so much fun when others enjoy them also. It takes me back to my childhood which was so much fun here is a few more pics of my passenger station. Ohio

Thanks Mike and Mark for the comments. When I say I really enjoy the trains also I really mean it . So much fun . Here in our area we have several guys that are so involved  in the hobby. Lepin Larry Bob lmshire Dr.Fisher Charlie Lentz Rich Hanse  and some new blood Captin William who in the military. Thank him for his duty for our country. . FOR TODAY:  "Well Chester it's almost time to call it a day.  Where' should we go to wet our whistles after we tie this old teapot up for he night?" " You know Cranford I was thinking the same dang thing just before you asked.  The wife's at a meeting tonight so I have to fend for supper myself.  How bout we stop on over to Carmichaels Grubb and Pub for a bite and a pint or two?"  Yep that sounds perfect Chester!  Let me climb back up on the engine and notcher out for the roundhouse.  You wait here as I ease the caboose on up so you can hop on.  We'll be eaten some fine food and drinking some good brew tonight!"  As Chester grabs hold of the ladder leading to the cab, Cranford calls out " Be sure to ask our new fireman Biff if he would like to tag along!"  Chester gives an approving smile and a nod as he swings himself upward. .... just another day on the railroad.

John, the Disney "Cars" are a great touch! Reminds us that our railroad modeling is for fun and enjoyment! Great layout, always enjoy your photos! Happy Friday!

Here’s today’s I’m glad to get this back on the layout after working all week on and off  on it the Top chain sprocket broke its the cheap one that comes with this engine I had a extra one that was a lot better and it runs smoothly now.

Lately I see lots of posts for selling items.. Not too much modeling'. .I found these pics when I first started scratch building structures for my 1/24th car collection.  All paper, using Evans Design, Model Builder Software program... I soon switched to 1/48 as the 1/24 was taking up too much real estate'...

These builds go back to 2010'...

Ted those are some great photos! I sure have missed your post and photos. Now that getting to the point of putting my layout back together I hope to be back to the cars again!

Thanks Joe'.. No layout yet, or work station.  I am working on it, but as you know life's daily (PIA) things get in the way'... At least I'm on the right side of the grass.....(LOL)...🤣

Good you are on the right side of the grass Ted..................my problem now is trying to figure out when to tell Judy the time to lime and feed for the green stuff.    ( Judy likes her grass nice and green. )

FOR TODAY:  Easter Sunday ...  a drive to the city to Aunt Edna's and Uncle Herbert's for Easter dinner.  It's always an adventure leaving our remote country home and drive into the city.  There's so many wonderful and sometimes quite surprising sites to see.  Here we just missed a freight train at the crossing in Danlilu.  I wish we'd left home a few minutes earlier so we could have seen the entire train!  Darn!!

Driving along we see this row boat and boaters already out on the lake.

Driving by a small rail yard down at Grinder's Switch  we see show horses being transferred from a railroad horse car to a truck.  Hmmm ...  there must be a horse show nearby.

Once we turned onto route 9 we caught this view of a logging train smoking it up.

We attended church at this quaint little church in Dutchesville .. population 517 give or take a few deepening on the day.    I'm delighted that the minister wasn't long winded.  Last year, at our church back home,  the service lasted two hours because once that minister started on the sermon he didn't come up for air!    

After church we drive for another 45 minutes and finally reach the city.  It's always great to see this big sign welcoming everyone to Patsburg!  We have to stop at the grade crossing as a freight train rolls by ... 53 cars long not including the caboose!  Once we get through the grade crossing I see a sign that reads "You are now on Patsburg Ave."  

Patsburg Ave is kind of busy for a Sunday morning especially Easter!  

Finally we've arrived at Aunt Enda's and Uncle Herbert's apartment.  They live in the posh Westend neighborhood of Patsburg.  Their apartment is rather large and spacious.  Both Aunt Edna and Uncle Herbert are lawyers.  Wow!! ...  the food cooking in the kitchen smells absolutely divine!! Boy am I hungry!!   Much to my disappointment, dinner won't be ready for another hour. Better step out on the balcony so I don't smell that wonderful aroma of food being cooked.   The view from the balcony is awesome!  The small park has flowers in bloom, and there is an ice cream truck ... my first ice cream truck sighting this year too! The town is bustling!  You can only imagine where I'll be after dinner ... walking in the park.

With a full belly I'm now sitting on a park bench people watching.  I don't think I'll be buying any ice cream today.  Aunt Edna's homemade peanut butter chocolate coconut Easter eggs are fantastic and I ate way too much.   Hmmm ... I wonder if that Lionel train shop will be open tomorrow?

Wow. For a pic today .a new scene which I don't think I've posted before. Still working on this scene.

FOR TODAY:  Working overtime!   Skippy Logans, Lyle Hemmet, and C J Meekins are making some extra coins tonight as they pull an extra shift.    Good thing there's a full moon!  This area needs to be totally cleared  as MOW Superintendant JD Higgenbottom will arrive here at 8 a.m. on the FSJR business car 120.  The car will be set out on this siding for a few days, and  for what purpose this trio of hard working men does not know.  However, there's been a bit of gossip  that O'l JD might have a little gal tucked away up here in the mountains. After all he's a been walking with a little extra bounce in his step lately! ... just another day on the railroad!

Springtime on the river. A few fishermen have ventured out as well as some campers are back.

Thanks Paul, if it wasn't for you, Ted, Lee and Coach and some other folks I wouldn't have paid that much attention to having autos on the layout. I can't wait till I get back to the point of finding more autos, trucks and painting people again!

FOR TODAY:  Gustav Otterbien drags a pallet as he keeps one eye on the Shay pushing freight cars back onto the siding.  Looks like O'l Carson Quigley is at the Shay's throttle.  He's usually assigned to one of the bigger steam locomotives like a Y6b mallet or 4-8-4 Hudson.  And looky yonder riding on the back of the tender!  It's Jasper Winnans!  Must not be enough room in the cab for third person, so the brakeman has to ride on the tender deck.  Hmmmm good thing today is a fair weather day.  ... just another day on the railroad!

Great Photo Patrick! Sure seems like Gustav is always busting his rear! When is it going to be his turn to take a ride?

Mike. Thanks for you're kind words. You asked about the background buildings. I got them from  Stan at East Coast Hobbies at the York meet. They are already to install with less. I just add people ,window shades and other little things. I'm at York now for the show and plan on picking up a few more.

Underground mining in western KY.  Really slowed down in real time but not on my layout. It's going strong as ever. Keeping the lights on. COAL.

Great scene, John!  Yes indeed; mine that coal!

Love the mining scene John! Wish i would have thought of something like that before I put the upper deck on! LOL

Mike the mining scene is because there was a lot of them in Western KY.  My wife said I needed to put an underground mine scene so I did. It used some unused real-estate  and worked out well .I put some mining sounds in it also.
