Night departure from the station.  Brings back good memories of an overnight trip from Grand Central Station in NYC to Biloxi, MS at age 9 with parents.  We had a sleeper compartment for 3, I can clearly remember looking out the window at night from the bunk and falling asleep listening to the clickety-clack of the rails.  And the waffles in the dining car were great!

I apologize for something: Noticing the thread's title is "A picture..." made me feel unobservant because I was posting multiple pictures in a few responses.  I'll do better.

I built a special Easter layout when my grandkids visited one year.  Since I'm only showing one image at a time, here's one:

FOR TODAY:  Although there's a wedding happening today, tomorrow after the Easter service most folks will head over to JAHN'S for some sweat treats. IMG_0039

Now you’re bringing back the memories. When I was a kid my Uncle would take the whole family out to 7 Brothers in Queens, NY for dinner; and then we would go to Jahn’s for dessert! What is the brand of the building?

FOR TODAY:  Free State Junction Railway photographer I.C. Thrulenz happened to snap these shots this morning on his way to work at the railroad.

It's about 7:30 a.m. and Cab Tilkens  is working his milk route.  Always on time with a cheerful attitude and a smile on his face, Cab is loved by his customers ... perhaps by some more than others ... as there are few kids on his route that town folk say look remarkably like o'l Cab.    Hmmm ... what are the odds?

Turning the corner this morning in his new 1950 Mercury is Dom Minassi, Free State Junction Railway's Superintendent of Passenger Operations.  He's headed down to the Patsburg Commuter Station.  Meanwhile, in the distant background,  a Baltimore & Annapolis Railroad caboose is bringing up the rear of a short freight train.IMG_1759

I.C. captured this shot very early this morning as the sun was coming up.  As soon as he clicked the button on his camera, a rooster crowed.  O'l I.C. loves to wake up before the chickens!   AND of course there's Cab having just loaded his truck with fresh milk. IMG_1741
