AC Commander & Railsounds Problems

I installed the AC Commander and Railsounds into my NYC Hudson (7-18005) a few years ago. I use the Cab1 / Powermaster system. Operation has suddenly become erratic. It can take several attempts to get the loco to recognize its address and to respond to the throttle. Once it is running it will abruptly stop, for no reason (track and wheels are clean as a whistle, excuse the pun). And the sound module no longer triggers any sounds other than the chuff: no bell or whistle. I have gone thru repeated re-sets on the Cab1 system and the AC commander, but cannot overcome these behaviors. Any advice out there?

Grounded antenna? R2LC going bad? Check antenna for chassis ground, swap a new R2LC in to see if symptoms clear. G

I had the exact same issue with an AC commander into a GP40 ICG diesel. Someone on the forum told me to use a different radio card. I was using an R2LC 08 and was told to use an R4LC I think. Not sure that'a what it was but I bought one and put it in. Works great now.

This is quite an unusual thing to hear, especially since I have similar locomotives made by Lionel Trains Inc. I planned on doing the same to.

I never thought you'd have to replace the R2LC for another board just for this.

Thanks for that, though ERR's website (at least currently) has its AC commander - along with its DC and Cruise counterparts - listed with an R4LC-C08 board. I'm going to assume ERR has learned of this problem now and now packages its upgrade modules with this improved board.
