Has anybody else heard about the freight train hitting a car or small truck at the crossing near (just north of Salerno Road, Seaward Ave.)Port Salerno FL? On the news they mentioned 2 people were killed there, possibly 2 men on their way to work. It was an FEC freight train verses a 1995 Dodge pick-up truck. The truck drove around the gates & flashing lights and the accident shut down the FEC tracks for a couple hours.

I don't have the news clip but it was on a local station WPTV.com channel 5 in West Palm Beach FL.

FEC uses a brakeman and an engineer, don't know for sure about the conductor or if he doubles as the brakeman. I have seen FEC couple and uncouple some freight cars in Stuart FL a few times.
