Got my AM GP9 Red N&W Loco. I have added some brass parts that really makes the GP look even better. Got the brass parts from B.T.S.
I am going to convert it to TMCC with directional lighting next.

Jackie,
Are you going with the Mini-2 for the TMCC install?
Ray
Thats the plan.......probably sound to.
ERR has a GP7/9 sound board that would be a good choice.
Is this the correct red? I always thought it was Tuscan Red.
Ed
Well, that's not the correct red, but it doesn't look like Tuscan Red either.
Here's the real thing: http://www.rrpicturearchives.n...cture.aspx?id=679827
Here's another picture, looks a bit brighter in this one: https://www.railpictures.net/s...7740&key=9980945
Here's Tuscan Red.
This is the way it came, and this is the way it will stay. can anyone tell me what the horn on N&W GP9 is called. I mean the horn that has 2 forward horns and one facing backwards.......
Jackie
I think they're a Leslie S-2M/S-25 combination set.
Remember The flash was used so that changes the shade of color.......yes, it is probably a little light.
I have seen the Red GP at the Roanoke Museum and it is a little darker.......NS probably did the painting on this engine so believe it correct. I think they also painted 620.
Does anyone know the color ID for the Blue N&W GP's .
I am very surprised we are talking about color and not the brass detail parts????????????
Jackie
I like the brass, adds a lot!!!

I am curious to know where you will locate the sound in the GP, l didn't find room in my SD60s. Maybe I didn't look hard enough!
If you find enough space for the sound board I have some small speakers that I have put in Flyer GPs.

I installed TMCC with the sound board in several of my AM trainmasters. Without removing the brass flywheel it would have been near impossible.

A great source of quality small speakers is discarded laptops, it's amazing the quality of sound they get from pretty tiny speakers.

I concur... they have great sound and decent bass response for their size. I pulled these from a 2005-vintage Dell.
Thanks!
