Can I add 3mm LEDs to the existing lighting of the Mel's Diner? I wanted to add some more lighting and I have a bunch of 3mm LEDs. Can I just tap into the existing wiring, or do I need to add a converter of some sort?

Yes. You want to use DC not AC. If it's AC, you'll need a converter of some kind (at least a diode). You also need to know the voltage of the existing lights and the number of LEDs that you want to add. It is also helpful to know the color of the LEDs because different colors use a different "forward voltage". Then use the LED wizard to plug these numbers in and it will come up with the proper circuit for you. Just search for the LED wizard on the internet.

here is the led wizard. To simplify installation I use the 14VAC power off one of my Z-4000's, of course - I put a half-wave bridge rectifier in the circuit to make it DC.
